The Outpatient Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine team at Cooley Dickinson Hospital provides comprehensive care for patients with pulmonary and sleep-related conditions at our 10 Main Street location in Florence, Massachusetts. Services include evaluation and management of chronic respiratory diseases, diagnostic sleep testing, and treatment for a wide range of sleep disorders. Our multidisciplinary team is committed to delivering patient-centered care in a collaborative outpatient setting focused on improving long‑term respiratory health and quality of sleep.
We are seeking a full‑time, 40‑hour Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team. This position includes two 8‑hour shifts (Mondays and Tuesdays) in Sleep Medicine, two 8‑hour shifts (Thursdays and Fridays) in the Lung Nodule Clinic, and one 8‑hour administrative day on Wednesdays. This role does not include call responsibilities, nights, weekends, or holidays.
Summary
The Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed provider. The PA is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation.

- Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural setting.
- Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Develops appropriate plans of care and follow‑up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
- Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Consistently provides high‑quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries.
- Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.

Master’s Degree Physician Assistant required

Experience as a licensed Physician Assistant preferred
- 3+ years of experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant required, preferably in Pulmonary and/or sleep medicine.
