POSITION

SUMMARY

The Test and Control Technician is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and inspecting ground support equipment - including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems - at final inspection and prior to shipment. This position reports directly to the Production Manager and indirectly to the Quality Assurance Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs functional testing of completed units and subassemblies, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses system faults, determines root cause, and verifies corrective action prior to release.
  • Performs final inspection and evaluation of product/units for shipment to our Customers.
  • Performs formal and informal audits of all material, processes, products, and systems as needed or required.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and wiring, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagrams to verify build accuracy.
  • Documents test results, inspection findings, and nonconformances; maintains accurate quality records.
  • ISO Standards Implementation: helps as active team member to secure and maintain a Quality Management System to the standards.
  • Follows all plant safety requirements and required personal protective equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND

EXPERIENCE:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • 3-5 years of experience in active inspection, preferably final product inspection.
  • Demonstrated industrial or automotive troubleshooting experience is required.
  • Hands-on working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Engineering or technical related experience desired.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and system diagrams.
OTHER

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Familiar with basic measuring and test equipment, including testing and record maintenance.
  • Ability to use diagnostic and test instruments such as multimeters and pressure gauges.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer skills: MRP system experience, knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work in a team or solo environment.
  • Detail-oriented mindset.
EDUCATION:
  • 3-5 years' experience in troubleshooting, inspection, testing, or QA related capacities.
  • Technical or trade school training in electrical, mechanical, or automotive technology is a plus.
WORK SCHEDULE:
  • Standard schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • Occasional Friday and overtime hours may be offered to meet production and shipping schedules.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to climb on and around ground support equipment to perform testing and inspection.
  • Work is performed on a shop floor with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures; required personal protective equipment must be worn.
