Description Overview

  • The Quality Specialist is responsible for improvement and management of quality systems supporting consumer preference and trust, overseeing the management of the Document Control Program.
Scope of the Role
  • Own knowledge transfer and continuous improvement in methodology through updated methods as technology is available.
  • Integrate point-of-use documents using the best approach for operator use.
Quality Guardianship
  • Ensure the Document Control program complies with all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support facility during internal and external audits/assessments (e.g., FDA, USDA, WDA, Kosher, Halal, ISO).
Quality System
  • Maintain conformance, sustainability, and continuous improvement of the Document Control program.
  • Support the facility in creating, revising, issuing, controlling, and maintaining controlled documents for product manufacturing.
  • Oversee other controlled documents required by quality, food safety, safety, and environmental teams.
  • Facilitate document review to ensure accurate and timely completion.
  • Prepare and maintain document templates to meet company formatting requirements.
  • Coach users and conduct training related to Document Control procedures/processes.
People and Know-How
  • Develop, coach, and train users to ensure effective and efficient quality systems.
  • Promote document control collaboration across the facility and identify improvement opportunities.
Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferred: microbiology, chemistry, or food science).
  • 2+ years of quality-related experience.
  • Regulated food manufacturing experience with exposure to 21 CFR 106/107/117, Lean, and/or FSSC 22000/SQF is preferred (not required).
Other Skills
  • Ability to work independently and apply technical/quality/compliance knowledge.
  • Proficient with PC software (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
