Description Overview
- The factory hygienist maintains pre-requisite programs to ensure Food Safety and Compliance, overseeing Sanitation, Zoning, cGMPs, Allergen Management, Foreign Body Prevention, Environmental Monitoring, Pest Control, and product protection plans.
- 2-2-3 Night shift rotation, 6pm-6am.
- Quality Systems:
Manage/analyze trends and verification activities for pre-requisite programs; keep risk assessments and Food Safety Management Systems up to date; support implementation/maintenance of environmental monitoring; perform root-cause investigations; implement corrective/preventive actions; analyze environmental monitoring data; complete food safety risk assessments; work with Pest Control provider to close facility gaps. - People and Know-How:
Develop/execute training; coach on the production floor to ensure compliance; work with Project Managers and contractors to uphold facility hygiene; lead improvement projects to improve pre-requisite programs; provide oversight/guidance for sanitation; drive continuous improvement. - Quality Auditing and Verification:
Conduct GMP, foreign body, and pest control inspections; maintain audit records and ensure CAPA completion; support annual HACCP reviews and floor walks; maintain hygiene system records per ISO and regulatory requirements. - Quality Mastership:
Support continuous improvement toward zero defects; support compliance with Quality Management System requirements; identify non-conformance issues and coordinate Quality/Food Safety risk analysis. - Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related field; or equivalent experience in food manufacturing quality.
- Experience with pre-requisite programs, hygiene, and sanitation
- Working knowledge of pathogens and environmental monitoring
- Experience in highly regulated manufacturing
- Working knowledge of cGMPs and FDA requirements
