Server Assistant

Primary Responsibilities

Provides assistance to the service, bartending and host/hostess staff to help maintain the smooth operation of guest service in the restaurant.

• Busses tables and provides assistance to servers with guest needs.
• Interacts with all guests creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere.
• Carries food and drinks to all areas of the restaurant throughout the entire shift.
• Provides refills of beverages to guest.
• Checks and ensures the overall cleanliness of the restrooms on a regular basis.
• Restock service items for bartenders, i.e., glasses, bar garnishes, ice, and beer.
• Restock service items for servers, i.e., glasses, ice, plates, rolling silverware.
• Empties trash cans when needed.
• Complete assigned cleaning duties.

• Reading, writing and verbal communication skills required.
• Mobility required during the entire shift.
• Transports and carries objects up to 15 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off the floor and wipe down booth seats in all areas of the restaurant.
• Must possess and/or obtain a valid Food Handlers Card prior to employment.
• In Oregon must possess and/or obtain a valid OLCC Card to serve alcohol within 30 days of employment.
• Must be 18 years of age to work evening shift.

• Must be able to stand and exert a well-paced mobility for periods up to four hours in length.
• Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other staff members.
• Transports glass racks and cases up to 25 pounds.

• Minimum wage plus tips.
• Merit increases based upon performance.
• Semi-annual performance evaluations.
