Associate Banker

Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects, identifying customer needs and providing advice and guidance on financial solutions that best serve their interests. Work collaboratively within the branch and across BMO partners to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve business objectives.

• Assist customers as they walk into the branch lobby, offering advice on digital and self‑serve options.
• Conduct client conversations about banking services to recommend alternative channels and provide personal banking and investment advice.
• Meet customer transaction‑based needs with seamless execution.
• Review customer profiles and engage in needs‑based conversations to identify opportunities and address banking plans and credit card needs.
• Support operational activities such as inventory management, escalated service requests, follow‑up on customer applications, filing, opening and closing activities.
• Collaborate with BMO partners to identify referral opportunities and grow customer relationships beyond personal banking.
• Probe customer needs and integrate marketing promotions and programs into conversations to provide strategic advice.
• Organize work information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Find creative approaches that make each customer’s experience feel personal.
• Look for ways to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the overall customer experience.
• Maintain knowledge of personal banking products, practices, and trends.
• Identify and report suspicious activity related to money laundering.
• Follow risk, compliance, legal and regulatory processes to safeguard customers’ assets and privacy.

• 1–2 years of relevant experience and/or certification in a related field or equivalent education and experience.
• Registration to sell investment products completed or in progress (must be completed within 12 months) for Canada only.
• Confident with social media, tablets, smartphones, online tools and applications.
• Experience in consultative customer service or sales roles with a drive to deliver a personal customer experience.
• Basic knowledge of specialized sales and business banking solutions to refer to specialists.
• Passionate commitment to helping customers and focus on results.
• Ability to thrive in a consultative sales and team‑based environment.
• Resourceful self‑starter with courage and confidence to approach customers.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport and connections with customers.

Salary range from $41,714.00 to $50,000.00 per year. Salaried position with potential commission structure. BMO offers health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, retirement savings plans, performance‑based incentives and discretionary bonuses.
