Job Description & How to Apply Below
A day in this role Morning starts with a quick check-in on overnight customer emails. You confirm a parts inquiry, schedule an annual inspection, and generate a repair quote in the ERP/CRM. By mid-morning, you’re on the road—flight, rental car, hotel—headed to a customer site. There, you trace a fault through a control cabinet, meter in hand, and partner with Engineering to resolve a PLC logic hiccup.

Before you leave, you submit your field service report, close out orders, and line up the next inspection to keep the relationship strong.

The next day may be back in your home office or a hotel desk: answering technical questions, coordinating parts availability with Purchasing and Production, and preparing customers for upcoming installs on LPI equipment. Throughout, you balance hands-on problem solving with proactive communication that drives repeat business and parts/service sales.

What you’ll tackle

Be the go-to contact for customer questions on parts, service, and inspections via phone and email.

Diagnose mechanical/electrical issues and produce accurate parts and service quotes using ERP/CRM tools.

Troubleshoot electrical systems; collaborate with Engineering on PLC/controls while on-site.

Confidently use and read a multi-meter for electrical diagnostics.

Plan and coordinate service trips—air travel, rental cars, lodging—and handle expense reporting.

Travel up to 60% for service, installation, and warranty work on LPI equipment.

Enter quotes, orders, and detailed field service reports promptly after visits.

Work effectively while traveling—answer emails, send quotes, and complete reports from hotels.

Partner closely with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Sales to ensure parts availability and project readiness.

Share feedback with Sales and Engineering on product improvements and emerging customer needs.

Build durable customer relationships with proactive communication and timely follow-up for annual inspections and service opportunities.

Uphold company procedures, safety standards, and quality requirements; take on other duties as assigned.

Reporting structure: N/A (individual contributor)
What you’ll bring

Hands-on mechanical aptitude and curiosity for new technologies.

Clear, confident communication and relationship-building skills.

Ability to read schematics/blueprints and collaborate with engineers on troubleshooting.

Solid electrical troubleshooting skills, including PLC/controls and multimeter use.

Comfort with hand tools and specialized field service equipment.

Skill in planning multiple projects and scheduling months in advance.

Willingness to travel nationally—sometimes on short notice—and a valid driver’s license.

Education & experience

Technical diploma in Electro-Mechanical, Industrial Mechanics, or related field preferred.

High school diploma or GED required; at least 3 months of relevant experience/training.

Background with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems strongly preferred.

Regularly lift and move up to 40 lbs.

Manual dexterity and visual acuity for inspection and repair.

Occasional extended sitting or standing for office-related tasks.

Office tasks performed in a typical environment using a computer and phone.
