Human Service Professional –Gaining Ground(Full Time)

Lutheran Social Services of WI & Upper MI is seeking a Human Service Professional to join our team at Gaining Ground, a resource centered dedicated to providing a safe, stigma‑free environment for individuals living with mental illness and those experiencing homelessness. Our mission is to deliver trauma‑informed, recovery‑focused services that help individuals gain stability and become active members of the community.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will provide professional human services to individuals and groups across a variety of settings, including community locations, shelters, jails, offices, and schools. Services may be delivered in person or through audio/visual platforms.

Your work may include:

• Assistance with Social Security, , employment, and housing applications
• Life skills, coping skills, and budgeting support
• Medication management assistance
• Education coordination (GED, technical college)

You’ll collaborate with clients and service teams, maintain accurate documentation, apply evidence‑based practices, and help individuals build independence and stability.

What We’re Looking For

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a human services–related field (examples include Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Counseling, Sociology, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, and others). Degrees not listed may require transcript review.

Requirements:

• Comfort working with individuals experiencing crisis
