Field Services Engineer

Osprey Engineering Solutions are hiring on behalf of a well-established distributor within the compressed air industry. We require a confident, self-motivated Field Service Engineer to work as part of the service team. Ideal candidate should have experience in electro mechanical rotating equipment, preferably air compressors or similar.

Based from home, working primarily within the South Wales area, along with M5/M4 corridor, but occasional working in other parts of the UK maybe required.

• Service, troubleshoot and repair air compressors and ancillary equipment.
• Keep up to date records, including service database, job sheets, mileage reports etc….
• Provide high level of customer service and act as a communication interface between the company and its customers.
• Work as part of the mobile Service team, keeping contact on a day to day basis with the Service Manager and Coordinators.
• Identify and recommend system upgrades s new product opportunities to Sales team.
• Provide telephone troubleshooting support to Customers and Distributors.
• Assist Technical Service Manager in attending Distributor customer sites to provide in field trouble shooting and rectification of faults in compressed air systems.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the service and repair of compressed air equipment or similar rotating equipment.
• Sound knowledge and experience in programming and trouble-shooting electro/ mechanical equipment desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential.
• Strong team working ethic essential.
• Strong trouble shooting skills essential.
• Individuals should possess electrical, mechanical, and pipe fitting experience. Experience in refrigerant systems would also be highly favoured.
• Ability to follow instructions reading and understanding electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams vital.
• FGAS Certification, BCAS DipCAM or any other relevant qualifications would be desirable.
• Valid full driver's license and safe driving record required.
• 40 Hours per week. Core hours are 8.00 to 16.30. Earlier starts and later finishes may sometimes be required, additional out of hours work will be paid at overtime rates.
• Occasional overnight stays required with an additional staying out allowance paid per night away, hotels and meals are paid for by the company where overnight stays are required. Occasional European travel may be required.
• Company van, mobile phone, laptop and credit card for business use will be provided.
• Technician’s incentive bonus scheme for new equipment and major work referrals.
• Driving bonus scheme for safe driving, paid quarterly.
