The Grace Beginnings Academy Toddler Teacher is passionate about caring for children ages 16–33 months in a Christ-centered environment. The ideal candidate partners with parents, and supports each child’s growth in their physical, social-emotional, cognitive, and spiritual development. This teacher plans and implements lessons aligned with the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress that are Biblically based and rooted in play. This is a full-time, year-round position with an 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. schedule.
- Create a Christ-centered learning environment for children ages 16–33 months.
- Provide educational experiences in the classroom that demonstrate an understanding of learning domains, Early Childhood Indicators of Progress, and assessments.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of the students in the classroom.
- Collaborate with the Toddler Grade Level Team in planning lessons and activities throughout the school year.
- Daily communicate with families on the success, challenges and activities of the day.
- Meet regularly with parents both informally and formally throughout the year to address child needs.
- Conduct parent teacher conferences twice a year.
- Follow the directives of the Infant and Toddler Director to maintain high standards in the classroom and provide a quality learning experience for the children.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized classroom and assume the responsibility to complete the duties required to maintain an orderly facility.
- Approach behavioral issues that arise with children with Christ-centered love, respect and patience.
- Attend all required training and staff meetings throughout the year.
- Attend all school community events throughout the year, even if outside scheduled hours.
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is an essential requirement of this position.
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice for teaching children from 6 weeks to 33 months.
- Maintains licensing compliance.
- Educational requirements:
CDA, Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education. - Experience required:
Must meet the licensing guidelines for lead qualification. - Physically able to lift at least 40 pounds and work both indoors and outdoors throughout the day.
- Able to see and hear clearly, stay at children’s level, and actively engage to ensure their safety.
- Has a heart and mission to reach the next generation with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- Can clearly articulate the Gospel to a young child.
- Exhibits a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as evidenced by the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
- Exhibits a lifestyle appropriate to a person in public Christian ministry by conducting life with the utmost integrity in all situations.
- Knowledge of the Bible and faith development of Infant children.
- Has a commitment to prayer, as evidenced in both corporate and personal prayer.
