Primary Objective

The Mechanical Design Engineer position is a member of the Electrical Hardware Development team at MTS Systems. The team is responsible for developing and supporting a wide range of electrical products focused on high performance motion control and precision data acquisition.

Major Areas of Accountability

* System cable and controller chassis design, build, and test

* Interface with vendors and CM partners for prototyping

* Generate documentation (Assembly drawings, BOMs, etc.) required for manufacturing and assembly

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or related field

* 2+ years of experience using Solid Works for mechanical design and 3D modeling

* Hands-on experience with building mechanical prototypes

* Proficiency in Python for test automation and data analysis

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with AutoCAD or Altium

* Experience with reading schematics and datasheets

* Experience with Test Method Validation, Design of Experiment (DoE)

Compensation Information:

$86,000 - $125,000 Annual Salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
