We have a Project Manager opportunity available in our Eden Prairie, MN office. The Project Manager will be responsible for project execution, task identification, prioritization and scheduling, financial tracking and budget management, risk management including early problem identification and conflict resolution, procurement, subcontracts, support of engineers, communications and meeting leadership, and account/client management.

Project Management Responsibilities

Work will include projects ranging in size from $20k up to $5M. This position is responsible for ensuring overall project profitability.

  • Develop and execute project execution plans and/or project charters
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of scopes of work
  • Acquire resources from BU manager and assign work to project teams to meet overall project deadlines
  • Develop engineering schedules for W‑M team and customer requirements; proficient with Microsoft Project, critical path and float analysis, and resource leveling
  • Handle engineering‑related purchasing and subcontractor requirements
  • Develop costs and proposal of change orders to contract scope
  • Manage plan for project profitability including cost projections, cash flow, A/R collections and project invoicing; independently discern project team's actual and remaining progress during design, documentation, code configuration, testing
  • Ensure overall project quality
  • Produce technical writing that includes project definition and requirements, status reporting, requests for information, and customer correspondence
  • Manage project documentation system, status reporting, organization and maintenance of current network‑based project files, meeting minutes and action item lists, and purchase orders
  • Identify sales opportunities, confidently suggest scope changes with justifications, and network across targeted industries; provide input to proposals and technical support to closing new business
Education

Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or a related discipline. PMP certification preferred.

Experience

A minimum of 10+ years of project management experience with a 10+ year controls engineering background is required. Strong leadership and client‑relations skills are required.

  • Experience in one or more of the following industries:
    Water and Wastewater (preferred), Life Sciences, Specialty Chemicals, Food and Beverage
  • Experience managing design of electrical schematics, including motor control panels 480

    VAC and below, PLC control panels, operator interface panels, local control panels; experience with UL508A, UL698, and UL698A desired
  • Experience specifying field instrumentation
  • Experience specifying motor control centers
  • Experience leading local and remote teams of engineers/technicians to provide control system solutions
  • Experience mentoring less experienced engineers
Preferred Experience
  • Rockwell PLC and SCADA systems
  • Municipal bidding and specifications
  • Additional SCADA/HMI experience a plus, including Ignition, Wonderware System Platform
Working Environment

Hybrid mix of standard office environment and work‑from‑home leadership; up to 25% travel to client sites; diverse industrial environments. Prefer candidate to be located in the Minneapolis‑St. Paul metropolitan area.

Salary Range and Benefits Summary

The expected salary range is $110,000 – $130,000 per year depending on qualifications, plus a discretionary bonus and employee stock program.
