Partner with a lead mechanical engineer on new product development and product improvement initiatives
Create CAD models and engineering drawings
Build and evaluate prototypes using 3D printing and machining technologies
Execute prototype testing for performance, durability, and environmental requirements
Apply engineering coursework to practical product development projects
Gain exposure to multiple engineering disciplines before graduation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support engineering objectives and product development milestones
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, on-site in Eden Prairie, MN from January 2027 through August 2027
- Strong interest in product design, development, testing, and engineering problem solving
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Experience or coursework involving CAD software;
Solid Works knowledge preferred - Familiarity with machining processes and 3D printing technologies
- Understanding of material properties and materials science fundamentals
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Exposure to MATLAB, finite element analysis, or simulation tools such as Ansys Workbench
- Experience through academic projects, student organizations, research, laboratory work, or internships
Demonstrates strong capabilities in CAD modeling, prototype testing, and engineering problem-solving, with a solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles and materials science. Collaborates effectively within cross-functional teams to achieve product development goals.
