- $18.00 -$19.00 per hour (depending on qualifications)
- Reports to Recreation Supervisor
- Arts and Events - Located at Eden Prairie Art Center (7650 Equitable Dr., Eden Prairie, MN) and various parks and recreation facilities around Eden Prairie.
- Position runs May
- August 2026. Hours will average 30 hours per week and will vary based on needs which includes weekday, evenings, weekends and July 4th required.
The Theater and Events Site Lead works alongside the Arts and Events Recreation Supervisor and Recreation Specialist in planning, promoting, implementing and evaluating events for the City. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are:
- Support and coordinate the planning and implementation of community-wide events such as Arts in the Park, the 4th of July Hometown Celebration and People Fest!, among others.
- Assist with the implementation of administrative processes, policies, and procedures to ensure high quality events, programs and services. Attend meetings and perform various administrative duties required for program and event planning and implementation.
- Coordinate events and program specific tasks including managing supplies and other event logistics.
- Provide on‑site coordination and troubleshooting for event logistics including set‑up and tear‑down.
- Utilize computer software programs such as Microsoft Office, Adobe, Canva, mapping or GSI software, and others as needed.
- Act as a positive role model to staff, volunteers, and participants.
While these areas are the primary focus of this position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as a part of their role with the City to support Parks and Recreation.
Requirements- Pursing parks and recreation education and/or degree required or one year of related experience required. Experience with performing arts events, coordination with outside vendors, etc. preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.
- Must be able to frequently lift/carry/pull up to 50 lbs.; occasionally lift/carry/pull 50–75 lbs.
- Evening and weekend availability required. Must be available for at least 2 events per week.
- Candidates must successfully complete and pass the City’s evaluation of the pre‑employment process prior to their first day of employment. Pre‑employment processes for this position includes professional reference checks, driver’s check (must have excellent driving record), background check, work verification.
- Able to convey a message to get a point across. Communicates in a clear and concise manner. Able to write clearly and succinctly. Tailors message to a variety of communication settings and styles.
