Senior Financial Analyst

This position follows a hybrid schedule with four days per week in-office. Our office is located at 1 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

This finance position supports Optum Capital—including budgeting/forecasting, reporting, analytics, productivity, benefit tracking, AI reporting, and other ad‑hoc financial support. The position works closely with senior leadership and SG&A teams.

This is a full-time role that requires flexibility to work any shift during normal business hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST. Overtime may be required at times.

• Develop and maintain financial reports to clearly communicate actual results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan, forecast and budget
• Assist with management reporting and system reconciliation
• Solve unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business
• Partner with Enterprise AI, Technology, and Business leaders to shape the AI investment roadmap
• Translate highly complex concepts into ideas that can be understood by a variety of audiences
• Produce clear, well‑formatted reports and presentations that communicate a compelling message for management

• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• 1+ year of finance/accounting or systems experience in post‑graduate or internship experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling experience
• Experience working collaboratively and influencing others within a matrix organization
• Ability to work full-time and adapt to shift schedules during normal business hours

• Experience using Tableau, Power BI, Hyperion Essbase and People Soft Financials

• Reside within commutable distance to 1 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, Minnesota
• Keep company-sensitive documents secure
• Maintain a dedicated work area that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
• Live in a location with United Health Group approved high-speed internet or an existing high-speed service

• Ability to work independently with little supervision and prioritize work
• Excellent written communication skills and ability to verbally communicate ideas clearly and confidently
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented; strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
• Initiative, self-direction, motivation, and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment

Pay is based on local labor markets, education, experience, and certifications. Salary range is $60,200 – $107,400 annually for full-time employment. Benefits include a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, 401(k) contribution, and other incentives subject to eligibility.
