Job Description

The Director of Finance leads the organization's financial planning and analysis function, driving the annual budgeting process, long-range planning, and rolling forecasts. This role develops and maintains robust financial models to support business planning, investment decisions, and scenario analysis, while partnering closely with leaders across the organization to provide strategic financial guidance. The Director of Finance delivers executive-level reporting and insights, evaluates growth opportunities and capital investments, and continuously improves financial planning processes, reporting capabilities, and forecasting accuracy.

This position offers the opportunity to shape financial strategy in a growing organization and influence critical business decisions alongside senior leadership.

Responsibilities

+ Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational goals across the organization.

+ Develop and manage long-range financial plans and rolling forecasts to support ongoing business planning and decision-making.

+ Design, build, and maintain comprehensive financial models to evaluate business performance, investment opportunities, and scenario analyses.

+ Partner with business leaders across functions to provide strategic financial guidance and support key initiatives and projects.

+ Analyze financial and operational performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

+ Prepare, consolidate, and deliver executive-level reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership.

+ Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including variance analysis and performance commentary.

+ Evaluate growth opportunities, capital investments, and business cases to support strategic objectives and resource allocation decisions.

+ Provide actionable insights through ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support time-sensitive business needs.

+ Continuously improve financial planning processes, reporting capabilities, and forecasting accuracy, including tools, methodologies, and data structures.

+ Collaborate closely with Accounting, Operations, and other business functions to ensure alignment between financial plans and operational execution.

+ Support special projects, strategic initiatives, and organizational planning efforts as needed, including cross-functional work streams.

+ Influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization by clearly communicating financial implications and strategic trade-offs.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

+ 8+ years of progressive experience in finance, FP&A, corporate finance, or a related discipline.

+ Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and management reporting.

+ Proven ability to translate complex financial data into clear, meaningful business recommendations.

+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, modeling, and data analysis.

+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for developing executive-level presentations and dashboards.

+ Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and operational data and identify key insights.

+ Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership.

+ Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

+ Ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization and build strong cross-functional partnerships.

+ Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities, with a focus on driving value and supporting long-term growth.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in the healthcare or financial services industry is preferred.

+

Experience with Essbase or similar financial planning and analysis tools is a plus.

+ Strong business intelligence and data architecture capabilities are highly valued.

+ Data structuring experience, including organizing and optimizing financial and operational data for analysis, is a plus.

+ Experience supporting special projects, strategic initiatives, and organizational planning efforts is beneficial.

Work Environment

The finance team typically operates between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM Central Time, with core collaboration hours during this window to support team members located across the country. The role follows a hybrid schedule with four days onsite and Friday as a remote workday. The position generally involves a 45-hour workweek, with occasional extended hours during budgeting cycles, forecasting periods, month-end close activities, and other time-sensitive business needs.
