THE ROLE
Our Client is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join a new Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)-focused team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing innovative automation solutions that enhance system stability and proactively address operational issues before they impact our members. You will focus on building and integrating "agentic" solutions and workflows, leveraging tools such as Dynatrace and your expertise in scripting and development to create automated processes that reduce manual toil and improve the overall reliability of our services.
This position offers flexibility in location, with options for Eden Prairie, MN, Arizona, or telecommuting.
- Analyze existing operational processes and incident data to identify high-value opportunities for automation.
- Design, build, and maintain automation scripts, tools, and "agentic" workflows to support proactive system management.
- Leverage APIs and integration capabilities of platforms like Dynatrace to create event-driven, closed-loop automation.
- Develop solutions to automate diagnostics, remediation of common issues, and system health checks.
- Collaborate with SREs and application teams to integrate automation into their daily workflows.
- Document automation solutions and provide training to other team members.
- 5+ years of experience in a development or automation-focused role.
- Strong proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Power Shell, Go, JavaScript).
- Experience with automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Rundeck).
- Hands‑on experience with REST APIs and system integrations.
- Experience working in a cloud environment (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience with AIOps and observability platforms (Dynatrace highly preferred).
- Background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or Dev Ops.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops).
- Experience developing "agentic" or AI-driven automation solutions.
