Software Engineer – DevOps

This Software Engineer role is a member of the Application Software Development team at MTS Systems with a dual mandate:
Dev Ops and Test Automation. The team is responsible for the design, creation, test, and continual improvement of MTS application software focused on high performance simulation, data acquisition and motion control.

• Experience with Windows desktop test automation development using C# and Windows User Interface Automation libraries. Windows and MS SQL Server management for Azure Dev Ops Server on‑site operation. Windows workstation administration for Azure Dev Ops build and test agent management.
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure Dev Ops. Automate repetitive operational tasks through scripting (Power Shell, Windows command‑line) and configuration management (Azure Dev Ops)
• Manage and maintain source control strategies, branching policies, and release management processes. Manage Azure Dev Ops build agents including VM maintenance, IT coordination of minimum required security software.
• Defining Dev Ops build and test pipelines utilizing both Azure Dev Ops classic and YAML methodologies. Creating NuGet packages and package source management in Azure Dev Ops. Manage Azure Dev Ops server backups to ensure minimal data loss in event of server and infrastructure failures. Manage Azure Dev Ops collections, projects, repositories and users.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve application performance, reliability, and deployment frequency. Work with IT on coordinating enterprise authentication with external generative AI tools such as Github Copilot and Claude.
  
  AI. Work in Agile/Scrum development processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or equivalent technical experience.
• Demonstrated experience with Azure Dev Ops Server and CI/CD tools
• Hands‑on experience in a Dev Ops or Platform Engineering role.
• Experience with C#, .NET and MS Test. Solid scripting skills in one or more languages:
  Python, Power Shell.
• Knowledge of Azure Secure Signing technology and secrets management. VMware virtual machine management using vCenter and related tools including creating and configuring virtual machines, working with snapshots.
• Ability to work on a team and communicate effectively (verbal and written) in a cross‑functional environment.
• Strong understanding of networking, Linux/Windows server administration, and security fundamentals

• Knowledge and Experience utilizing Dev Sec Ops  practices
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Dev Ops Server – management of back‑end data and application servers
• Background in database administration and data pipeline automation
• Experience in Agile/Scrum development processes
• Experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery practices
• Experience in leveraging Generative AI tools (Github Copilot, Claude Code, etc.) in software development

$75,000 - $120,000 Annual Salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
