Product Engineer, Product Designer, CAD/ AutoCAD/ Mechanical Design
As an Industrial Designer at Tricam Industries, you will work in a fast‑paced environment as part of the Product Development team to develop new Gorilla® branded consumer products for leading retailers such as Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, and more. As part of the Product Development team, you will be integral to successful product launches by collaborating cross‑functionally alongside design engineers to translate product concepts into manufacturable solutions.
You will work out of Tricam’s corporate office in Eden Prairie MN, located 20 minutes southwest of downtown Minneapolis.

- Collaborate with design engineers, product managers and marketers to develop consumer products from concept to manufacturing following Tricam’s New Product Development process.
- Support Product Development team with CMF design and specification.
- Support Sales and Marketing cross‑functional teams as a visualization/rendering resource.
- Apply visual brand language to product refreshes and new products.
- Be adept at broad concept exploration, thoughtful down‑selection and iterative refinement.
- Strong grasp of design principals with ability to apply rationale to build support for design proposals.
- Secondary research with opportunities to engage in primary research/VOC.
- Leverage emerging digital tools, AI platforms, and applications to enhance concept generation, presentations, and overall productivity within the Design team.
- Bachelor’s degree (BS, BFA) in Industrial Design or related degree
- 6-10 years of product develop experience working with cross‑functional teams to ship consumer products that users love.
- Light travel may be required

- Ability to clearly articulate your concepts and evangelize on their behalf.

- Design for usability while balancing real‑world engineering and business constraints.
- Use rough sketches and early visualization to build shared understanding and drive early decision‑making.
- Support design choices with sound design principles and rationale.
- Proficiency with surface modeling in a 3D CAD parametric modeling software (Solid Works preferred, Rhino, Blender or equivalent will be considered).
- Proficiency with 2D visualization workflows/software including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Keyshot.
- Well‑rounded knowledge of manufacturing processes including plastic injection molding, aluminum extrusion, machining, and finishing operations.
- Experience in consumer product design for US mass retailers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Open‑minded, collaborative team player with experience initiating and driving projects to completion.
