The Manager, Field Training & Communications plays a critical role in elevating the Lifetouch Field organization. In this role, you'll lead the strategy, design, and delivery of training and communication initiatives that empower our Sales, Operations, and Photography teams to thrive. You'll strengthen field capability, support readiness for key business priorities, and ensure employees receive clear, timely, and actionable communication that fuels exceptional host and customer experiences.

You'll also guide a multidisciplinary team, drive cross‑functional alignment, and deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions that move the organization forward.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

* Support the strategic vision for field training and communications, ensuring alignment with business priorities such as customer experience, operational excellence, and growth.

* Develop long‑range training and communications plans that support seasonal cycles, enterprise initiatives, and new process rollouts.

* Partner with senior leaders across Field Support Office functions to anticipate needs, identify capability gaps, and shape field‑readiness strategies.

* Oversee the design, development, and delivery of training programs across a variety of methods (eLearning, video, instructor-led, webinars, job aids, user guides).

* Ensure content reflects instructional design best practices, brand standards, and organizational priorities.

* Continually review the effectiveness of training programs using field feedback, performance metrics, and business results.

* Drive the centralized strategy for Lifetouch Field Communications, including weekly updates, change announcements, readiness communications, and leader messaging.

* Establish communication standards that ensure clarity, consistency, and timely delivery across all channels (email, SharePoint, Teams, LMS).

* Work closely with partners in Sales, Operations, Photography, HR, Product, Marketing, and Technology to align messaging, training, and readiness.

* Lead, coach, and develop a team of Training Managers, L&D Specialists, and Project/Curriculum Managers.

* Create a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.

* Oversee project plans, timelines, workloads, and resource allocation for all FT&C initiatives, ensuring on‑time, high‑quality delivery.

Education:

* Bachelor's degree strongly preferred

Experience:

* 5+ years in Learning & Development, Training, Field Operations, Communications, or related functions

* Experience leading training or communications programs at scale

* Strong writing, editing, and messaging skills

* Proven ability to manage complex, cross‑functional initiatives

* Demonstrated experience leading a team

Other knowledge, skills, and abilities:

* Experience in multi‑location or field-based organizations

* Familiarity with Sales, Operations, and Photography workflows

* Background with LMS administration, eLearning tools, or instructional design software

* Experience supporting change initiatives or operational transformations

* Hybrid work environment with periodic collaboration at Field Support Office

* Occasional travel to support training rollouts, field readiness initiatives, or leadership meetings (estimated 10-20%, depending on seasonality)

The compensation package for this role is based on multiple factors, such as job level, responsibilities, location, and candidate experience. The base pay ranges included below are specific to the locations listed, and may not be applicable to other locations.

California : [$108,500-$154,000]

Connecticut and New York: [$108,500-$141,000]

Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota and Washington: [$108,500-$130,500]

Nevada: [$102,000-$141,000]

Maryland and New Jersey: [$117,250-$141,000]

Hawaii : [$102,000-$122,750]

This opportunity can be remote, but candidates must reside in a state in which Shutterfly is registered to do business. This includes all US states except District of Columbia, North Dakota, Mississippi, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Wyoming.
