The Evaluation Associate is responsible for providing support for evaluation projects, data management, and organizational learning efforts. The Evaluation Associate will work closely with Evaluation Officers to ensure that evaluation and organizational learning deliverables generate new insights to improve grantmaking and organizational performance.
This position reports to the Director, Evaluation and Organizational Learning and is a member of the Evaluation and Organizational Learning team.
RESPONSIBILITIESEvaluation Project Support
- Provide technical assistance and support to Evaluation Officers and program staff for program-level evaluation projects involving consultants, grantees, and other partners.
- Design and generate reports from the Fluxx grants management system to track grant-level evaluation deliverables produced by grantees.
- Analyze and summarize grant-level evaluation reports produced by grantee organizations and consultants.
- Assist in producing evaluation materials and presentations for board meetings, quarterly evaluation program meetings, and other evaluation-related meetings.
- Support the planning and implementation of evaluation department workshops with program leaders and staff.
- Review resources and tools from the evaluation field and assist in incorporating them into the organization’s evaluative practice.
- Research and curate evaluation reports from experts in the field that align with the organization’s domain and program interests.
Data Management Support
- Provide technical assistance and support for evaluation-related data collection, management, analysis, and reporting.
- Assist in the development of evaluative data management practices and procedures for the organization.
- Provide technical support and input into the design of the data system for tracking progress and assessing impact of program strategies.
- Manage evaluation data that is collected outside the organization’s grants management system.
- Support the implementation of program evaluation plans, including coordinating with external evaluation consultants and grantees on data-related issues and practices.
- Contribute to developing training sessions for program staff on data collection, data use, and reporting.
- Collaborate with Program Associates across domains on evaluation-related data projects.
- Develop ideas to help the organization apply data for decision-making.
Organizational Learning Support
- Support the director and the department on organizational learning programs and projects.
- Assist in developing systems and practices that help the organization preserve, curate, and apply our institutional knowledge.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop ideas and practices that help the organization apply evaluation results and data for program and organizational decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant experience required. Master’s Degree preferred. Studies in social sciences preferred with coursework incorporating research, evaluation, or data analysis.
