Development Officer

About the Role
As a Development Officer, you’ll help increase support for True Friends by building meaningful relationships with donors, community partners, organizations, and corporations. You’ll support a variety of fundraising activities, with a particular focus on community fundraising, donor engagement, special events, and stewardship.
This is a relationship-focused role that combines fundraising, community engagement, event coordination, and donor stewardship. You’ll work closely with the Development and Marketing teams to create opportunities for individuals and organizations to connect with and support the True Friends mission.
What You’ll Do
Your responsibilities may include:
Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective donors
Build and grow relationships with individuals, service organizations, community partners, and other groups involved in fundraising for True Friends
Develop and implement individual donor stewardship and cultivation strategies
Identify opportunities to increase support from individuals, organizations, and corporations
Support the coordination and execution of community-driven fundraising events and signature fundraising events
Maintain and manage True Friends’ online fundraising platform, including integrating special events and other fundraising activities as appropriate
Assist with planning and executing annual fundraising appeals, including content, design, and donor segmentation strategies
Collaborate with the Marketing team and consultants to develop and implement fundraising and marketing strategies
Track donor and constituent activity and maintain accurate and up-to-date information
Maintain accurate fundraising records and progress reports in Raiser’s Edge
Assist with the development, implementation, and reporting of the Development strategic plan and budget
Participate in donor recognition activities and organizational events
Represent True Friends at community meetings, fundraising events, service organization meetings, and other events as appropriate
Attend workshops, conferences, and meetings for professional development
Serve on committees and task forces as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned

Schedule
Full-time, year-round
Monday–Friday, typically 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Some evening and weekend work may be required for fundraising events, community events, donor meetings, and other organizational activities
Travel between True Friends locations and throughout the state may be required
