Epic Beaker CP/AP Analyst
Must Haves:
• Epic Beaker Clinical Pathology (CP) Certification.
• Epic Beaker Anatomic Pathology (AP) Certification.
• 3+ years of Epic Beaker build, configuration, and support experience.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory workflows and operations.
• Experience supporting CP, AP, Rules, and Instrument Configuration.
• Experience supporting laboratory applications within a healthcare environment.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Experience supporting laboratory interfaces and third-party vendor integrations.
Nice to Haves:
• Strong Beaker AP experience.
• Hands-on clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS).
• Experience with Safe Trace (Haemonetics Blood Bank System).
• Experience with Data Innovations middleware.
• Experience with RALS and iSTAT integrations.
• Experience supporting laboratory instrument integrations and middleware platforms.
• Prior involvement in Epic implementations, upgrades, optimization efforts, or laboratory modernization initiatives.
• Additional Epic certifications such as Bridges, Orders, Ambulatory, or Inpatient. Experience supporting large health systems and multi-site laboratory operations.
Job Description:
Optum is seeking an experienced Epic Beaker CP/AP Analyst to support laboratory operations, application enhancements, and strategic initiatives across Walnut Creek and Concord locations. This individual will play a key role in supporting Epic Beaker Clinical Pathology (CP) and Anatomic Pathology (AP) functionality, laboratory interfaces, instrument integrations, and multiple ongoing laboratory modernization projects. The primary focus of this position will be supporting Beaker initiatives, including antibiotic suppression projects, laboratory interfaces with third-party vendors, new instrument implementations, laboratory relocations, and Data Innovations upgrades.
The ideal candidate will have strong Epic Beaker build experience, hands-on laboratory workflow knowledge, and the ability to collaborate effectively with pathologists, laboratory leaders, technologists, clinicians, and IT teams.
Day to Day/Responsibilities:
• Provide ongoing support for Epic Beaker Clinical Pathology (CP) and Anatomic Pathology (AP).
• Manage incident tickets, troubleshooting efforts, and laboratory application support requests.
• Build, configure, maintain, and optimize Epic Beaker functionality.
• Support laboratory instrument integrations, middleware solutions, and third-party vendor interfaces.
• Participate in ongoing projects including antibiotic suppression initiatives, Data Innovations upgrades, laboratory relocations, and new instrument implementations.
• Perform testing, validation, upgrades, and system enhancement activities.
• Create and maintain documentation, workflows, and training materials. Participate in project meetings, communicate status updates, and support cross-functional collaboration.
