Bodycote is the world’s largest provider of thermal processing services, employing thousands of highly skilled staff worldwide. We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Eden Prairie, MN.

Sign‑On Retention Bonus: $1,500 upon successful completion.

Paid holidays, paid time off, and a 401(k) match are provided. Medical, dental, and vision plans are available for employees and families.

Pre‑employment Requirements: candidates must pass a drug screen and basic physical test and be able to work full‑time (40+ hours per week).

Work Hours:

Monday–Friday, 7 am–3 pm.

Safety Sensitive:
This position is safety‑sensitive due to the nature of our business and heavy industrial market.

Summary

As the Maintenance Technician, you will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Maintenance Manager to meet customer specifications and assist other employees as needed.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
  • Implement the facility’s preventative maintenance program.
  • Conduct scheduled inspections of fluid levels, water flows, quench oils, filters, washer soap, and similar items; notify supervisor of issues as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment in the Maintenance Department work area; promptly clean up after maintenance and repair work is completed within the facility.
  • Assist in equipment performance testing per company wide and manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Perform corrective actions for out‑of‑specification conditions as directed by supervisor.
  • Assist in analytical troubleshooting of issues to maintain equipment, facilities, and vehicles.
  • Accurately record and document all completed maintenance, modifications, and repairs.
  • Maintain shop copies of manuals and blueprints in a neat and organized manner; provide others with updated information as required.
  • Run company errands and pick up equipment, materials, and supplies as required.
  • Operate company vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
  • Promptly report observed equipment, facility, and vehicle repair or maintenance needs to supervisor.
  • Make suggestions for changes that would improve facility efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Assist in maintaining the inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts.
  • Care and treat our customer’s inventory responsibly to prevent loss or damage.
  • Report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co‑workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
Qualifications
  • Must satisfy ITAR compliance; candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent resident card holders.
  • Education:

    college or technical degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred; high school diploma or equivalent plus 3–5 years industrial maintenance experience required.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical equipment and analytical ability.
  • Knowledge and hands‑on experience with computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases.
  • Effective team member with good communication and cooperation skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; excellent multi‑tasking and prioritization ability.
  • Active participation in team meetings focused on problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
Physical & Mental Demands
  • Work in an industrial environment at elevated heights and in confined spaces.
  • Manual dexterity for data entry functions.
  • Capability to bend, pull, stoop, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and reach as required.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Potential exposure to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity.
  • Cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, and files.
  • Hearing ability for in‑person and phone communication.
