Software Tester

Job Summary

Play a key role in delivering high-quality software by testing and validating innovative applications and integrated hardware systems that power Starkey’s cutting‑edge hearing technologies. This position offers strong collaboration with engineering teams, hands‑on problem solving, and the opportunity to influence product quality through both manual and automated testing in a fast‑paced, impact‑driven environment.

This position is responsible for the Software Testing of Starkey Lab's various software products to ensure that high‑quality products are shipped to our end customers.

• Conduct software testing on software applications.
• Perform system‑level testing on Starkey’s software and hardware systems, working either in a team or independently.
• Follow standard configuration‑management practices and utilize a defect tracking tool; track quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.
• Resolve and provide solutions to internal and external customer‑related issues.
• Participate in the development and implementation of structured testing concepts, methodologies, and automated testing tools where applicable.
• Provide and promote internal communication between Software Engineering and other functional groups within the organization.
• Interact closely with the Software Engineering development team and assist software developers with problem resolutions.
• Attend project core team meetings.
• Release high‑quality software on time and within budget.
• Provide quality software improvements where software testing can benefit from.
• Properly handle conflicts and issues in a timely fashion and escalating when necessary.

• Education: 4‑year degree or equivalent required.
• Experience: Minimum of 1‑2 years of software test / quality assurance experience.
• Knowledge / Technical Requirements:
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle principles.
  • High degree of computer literacy.
  • Experience in Windows‑based operating systems and PCs.

• Target pay rate: $26.65 - $35.34 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
• Eligible for a bonus based upon performance results; there is no guarantee of payout.
