We are currently on the lookout for an experienced CDL Bus Driver to support our elite team at South West Transit for the 2026 Minnesota State Fair and Renaissance Festival season. As a key member, you will be entrusted with ensuring safe and comfortable transportation for our passengers, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.
Position Details- Starting payrate $27.00/hour
- Temporary employment from 7/13/2026 – 10/04/2026
- Paid training
- We will supply Minnesota Sick and Safe time.
- Safety-Focused Operations:
Execute flawless operations by meticulously following designated routes and schedules, while adhering to stringent safety protocols and traffic regulations. - Passenger Care:
Exhibit exceptional care and assistance towards passengers, ensuring smooth boarding, comfortable rides, and timely disembarkation for all. - Vehicle Vigilance:
Champion vehicle safety through comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip inspections, promptly reporting any maintenance issues, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety equipment readiness. - Adherence to Protocols:
Uphold company policies and procedures rigorously, encompassing seat belt enforcement, emergency response preparedness, and compliance with regulatory mandates. - Other duties as required.
- 21 years or older
- Valid CDL A or B with passenger endorsement and air brakes.
- Minimum 3 years of driving experience (personal or professional)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Availability to work day, evening, weekend and overnight shifts as assigned.
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions—100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects up to 25 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
