Intercompany Driver; International Shipping Department

Overview

This position is responsible for the timely shipping of all international mail and shipments leaving Starkey, and ensuring all items are shipped according to procedure. It also covers pick-up and delivery between the Warehouse, Main building, Technical Center and Cabinet Shop at predetermined areas. The role includes operating a box truck for intercompany routing of mail and packages. Hours are 8:00am–4:30pm, Monday to Friday, with some overtime.

• Ensure timely shipping of all international mail and shipments leaving Starkey.
• Box, weigh, and label shipments; prepare paperwork (airbill, certificate of origin, certificate of compliance, bill of lading, SED).
• Conduct tracers on shipments that are lost and prepare documentation to ship flammable liquids.
• Maintain daily shipping lists and ensure items are shipped according to procedure.
• Contact freight forwarders for shipping quotes and to schedule pick-ups; conduct credit checks; send out shipping confirmations to clients.
• Answer questions from international shipping clerks or other departments; research shipping regulations for proper shipping.
• Manage shipping requirements to foreign sites; prepare commercial and Starkey invoices; communicate with export department about problems, shipping instructions and urgent rush orders.
• Keep files for each account and all their shipments; prioritize workload.
• Ensure products and materials reach their destination within Starkey buildings; pick up and deliver between facilities; perform general maintenance of Company truck.
• Ensure raw materials and products are delivered in a timely manner to vendors and local Starkey companies; deliver products to local Starkey companies when necessary.
• Manage inventory: pick and ship orders; maintain inventory control for INT RESERV, CROSSDOCK and HQ STORES.

• High school degree or equivalent required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing and be able to pass a DOT physical.
• Must be comfortable operating a box truck.

• Ability to use a Pallet Jack.

• IATA Hazardous Materials certification required.
• Forklift Certification.
• Valid Driver's License.

• Good people skills.
• Type at least 30–35 WPM; ability to lift a minimum of 125 pounds.
• Ability to work with accuracy; good communication and manual dexterity.
• Good organizational and ten-key skills are desirable.
