TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

* Graduation from high school.

* Candidates must possess an associate's degree, successful completion of 48 semester hours or score at least a level Four or higher on all three portions (Applied Math, Graphic Literacy & Workplace Documents) of the Work Keys exam.

* Possession of an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

* Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the local board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities:

* Provides supplemental academic assistance to students

* Conducts instructional activities assigned by the content teacher with individual students or small groups

* Collaborates with content teachers regarding the progress and individual needs of students

* Collaborates with the content teacher to deliver differentiated instruction for students based on available local and state student data

* Assists the content teacher in preparing instructional materials

* Maintains appropriate records and reporting tools regarding services and student progress

* Attends required training sessions to learn strategies for working with students

* Participates in staff development programs to improve job performance
