Ameri Staff, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Storefront Glazing Installer / Assistant Project Manager to fill an opening with a commercial glazing company. We are looking for an experienced commercial glazier who is comfortable working in the field while also taking on project coordination and management responsibilities. Approximately 75-85% of this position will involve hands-on installation, with the remaining 15-25% focused on coordinating smaller commercial glazing projects.

Responsibilities of the Storefront Glazing Installer / Assistant Project Manager:
  • Install commercial aluminum storefront framing systems.
  • Install aluminum entrance doors, frames, sidelites, transoms, and related components.
  • Install insulated, tempered, laminated, spandrel, and other commercial glass products.
  • Properly glaze storefront systems using gaskets, setting blocks, sealants, tapes, and other required materials.
  • Install and adjust commercial door hardware, including closers, pivots, hinges, panic devices, locks, thresholds, sweeps, and weatherstripping.
  • Perform accurate field measurements and verify rough openings before fabrication and installation.
  • Read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, elevations, details, and hardware schedules.
  • Lay out storefront openings and determine proper frame and glass dimensions.
  • Cut, drill, fabricate, and modify aluminum storefront components in the field when necessary.
  • Properly anchor storefront framing to surrounding construction.
  • Apply silicone and other sealants neatly and correctly to provide professional, weather-tight installations.
  • Troubleshoot doors, hardware, storefront framing, water infiltration, glass issues, and other field conditions.
  • Perform service and repair work on existing storefront doors, glass, framing, and hardware.
  • Safely remove and replace broken or damaged glass.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Properly load, secure, transport, handle, and unload glass, aluminum, tools, and materials.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and scope of work before installation.
  • Visit jobsites to verify dimensions and field conditions.
  • Confirm openings and surrounding construction are ready for installation.
  • Develop material lists and coordinate glass, aluminum, hardware, sealants, and equipment requirements.
  • Assist with ordering materials and coordinating installation dates.
  • Help schedule manpower based on project requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and communicate schedule changes or delays.
  • Identify potential change-order work and report work outside the original scope.
  • Document field conditions, additional work, damages, delays, and other issues when necessary.
  • Communicate project status, material shortages, and jobsite issues to management.
  • Assist with punch-list completion and project closeout.
  • Follow OSHA requirements and company safety procedures.
Qualifications of the Storefront Glazing Installer / Assistant Project Manager:
  • Previous experience in commercial glass and glazing, preferably with aluminum storefront systems.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial storefront framing and entrance systems.
  • Experience installing and adjusting commercial door hardware.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic construction mathematics.
  • Ability to read architectural drawings and storefront shop drawings.
  • Experience accurately field-measuring storefront openings and glass sizes.
  • Knowledge of proper commercial glazing practices.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, lasers, levels, drills, saws, and caulking equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lead and work effectively with installers and helpers.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel to jobsites within the company's normal service area.
  • Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts, and other elevated work areas.
