* ** Position Overview** **:*
* As part of the talented Brunswick Boat Group Technology Center, you will play a pivotal role in engineering and integrating mechanical system designs at our facility in Edgewater, Florida. Your responsibilities encompass the use of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools to create 3D models for components and mechanical system layouts.

* Duties and Responsibilities:
*
* + Define requirements and component specifications for various systems in boats, including but not limited to fuel systems, fresh water, raw water, black water, air conditioning, hydraulic steering systems, power generation, water makers, refrigeration systems, air heater systems, and drainage systems.
+ Lead internal and external engineering reviews to ensure that systems meet both internal and external expectations.
+ Provide accurate material and component specifications for sourcing new and replacement components.
+ Collaborate with suppliers on the development of new systems and components to enhance the quality and value of boat systems continually.
+ Ensure that new designs and components meet cost, performance, and functional requirements for new and enhanced boat programs.
+ Create engineering drawings for new designs and approve all prints for boat release.
+ Generate, review, and approve engineering change notices (ECNs) as needed.
+ Participate in manufacturing integration activities to ensure successful product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Review and approve owner's manuals for accurate and complete descriptions and information.
+ Support manufacturing and customer service in resolving issues.
+ Validate designs to ensure they meet system specifications and performance requirements.
+ Utilize warranty data to identify and mitigate issues related to mechanical systems.
+ Provide technical evaluations and reports on issues for customer service and field problems.
+ Ensure compliance with all necessary industry, domestic, and international government regulations.
+ Verify that materials used in finished products have been tested and approved for quality and reliability.
+ Conduct final system design verification tests as required.
+ Ensure the timely and comprehensive completion of all project phases.
+ Be willing to travel (minimum 10%).
** Education/Training:*
* + Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.
+ Consideration will be given to candidates with significant work experience in lieu of educational requirements.

* Experience and Skills:
*
* + 2-5 years of marine product design experience with knowledge of manufacturing/production processes.
+ Proficiency in Computer Aided Design, with experience in Siemens NX preferred, and familiarity with software like Solid Works, Catia, Creo, or Pro-E.
+ Excellent 3D solid and free-surface modeling skills.
+ Understanding of Finite Element Analysis.
+ Proficient understanding of component and assembly interactions at the system level.
+ Lean Six Sigma certification or experience is a plus.
+ Commitment to quality and industry standards.
+ Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with employees, departments, vendors, dealers, and retail customers.
+ Willingness to work extra hours when required to ensure timely project completion.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
+ Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
+ Passion for the recreational marine industry.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, work at heights, fumes or airborne particles, and potentially toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
