General Practice Veterinarian / Medical Director – Edgewater, New Jersey About the Role

A veterinary practice is seeking a General Practice Veterinarian or Medical Director to join its progressive small animal team in Edgewater, New Jersey
.

This is a full-time position offering a $120,000–$165,000+ base salary plus production bonus with a no-negative-accrual option
. Signing, retention, and relocation packages of up to $75,000 may also be available.

The practice is open to an experienced Associate Veterinarian or a veterinarian interested in progressing into a Medical Director position
, with additional leadership support and a stipend available for the successful leadership candidate.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive preventative, medical, diagnostic, surgical, and dental care

  • Perform patient examinations and develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans

  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and ongoing care

  • Perform surgical and diagnostic procedures to a high clinical standard

  • Prescribe medications and follow appropriate controlled-substance protocols

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records

  • Work collaboratively with veterinary technicians and support staff

  • Promote efficient workflows and high standards of patient care

  • Participate in continuing education and ongoing clinical development

For candidates pursuing the Medical Director opportunity, additional responsibilities may include providing clinical leadership, supporting team development, reviewing medical protocols, monitoring hospital cases, and collaborating with management on operational and clinical priorities.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should hold a DVM, VMD, or equivalent veterinary degree and be licensed or eligible for veterinary licensure in New Jersey

Candidates should also have:
