St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) for our Clinical Cardiology department located within the Edgewood Hospital. This is a full‑time, 40‑hour per week position on the first shift.
Job DescriptionThe Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) provides care and treatment to patients under the auspices of a designated physician through a collaborative practice agreement. Responsibilities include patient assessment, initiation and evaluation of diagnostic testing, documentation of physical findings, and formulation of a treatment plan and prognosis based on the patient’s medical condition. In accordance with the collaborative practice agreement and evidence‑based guidelines, the APRN obtains health histories, performs physical examinations, identifies problems, establishes goals, and formulates comprehensive plans of care for patients and teaches preventive health measures.
The APRN functions as a facilitator to coordinate clinical care, educate patients and families, and support collaboration between various disciplines and agencies as necessary. Must demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors, and other employees regardless of cultural background.
Master’s degree in nursing with National Nurse Practitioner Certification in an appropriate specialty area (e.g., Acute Care, Adult, Adult Psych Mental Health, etc.). Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensed as an RN in the state where work is being performed. Requires Certificate of Authority and Standard Care Arrangement with a collaborating physician to practice as a nurse practitioner and medical staff privileges as an allied health professional.
