Compensation for this role: $115,000 - $140,000, commensurate with experience (Relocation assistance is not available.)Shift: 1st Shift, On-Site - Monday through Friday
Summary:
The Facilities Project Engineer is responsible for facility and equipment-related projects in a manufacturing environment. This role oversees all aspects of projects including design, specification, financial justification, scheduling, and implementation. Additionally, the Facilities Project Engineer develops critical spares lists and preventative maintenance schedules, supports the maintenance staff in diagnosing technical equipment problems, and utilizes lean manufacturing principles to optimize equipment reliability, eliminate waste, and increase overall operational efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Develops and maintains a functional computerized preventive maintenance program, utilizing industry standards; oversees all facets of the program.
Utilizes computerized systems to input PM orders and track status and/or completion.
Develops and maintains an inventory of critical spare parts to minimize downtime.
Analyses current facility workflows to identify and remove non-value-added activities.
Evaluates and recommends improvements to increase production and reduce downtime.
Updates and designs plant layouts and equipment workflows that reduce transportation, motion, and other wasted efforts.
Coordinates/streamlines installation and/or repairs of equipment in conjunction with Maintenance and associated departments.
Participates in development and implementation of projects to accomplish established production goals.
Maintains records of planned and completed maintenance.
Plans and implements environmental and other related construction projects utilizing vendors, contractors, consultants and in-house resources.
Coordinates and supervises project activities of contractors, consultants, and vendors to assure performance and completion on time, within budget, and meeting installation and start-up requirements.
Provides a higher level of diagnostic assistance to the Maintenance staff to resolve facility and equipment problems.
Works in a safe manner following all departmental and plant safety rules. Reports any unsafe work conditions to the Safety Manager, supervisor, or management.

Qualifications and
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / electrical / industrial engineering or a related field.
Minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt required, Black Belt preferred
Must have strong knowledge of computerized maintenance management program.
Financial knowledge is necessary for reading and understanding budgets, budget variances, and basic reporting as required by management.
Ability to use CAD for facility layout and equipment design purposes.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, timekeeping, and work order systems required.
Must have English reading and verbal communication skills sufficient to read, understand, and communicate the company operating procedures and policies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Project management skills.
Must be able to work the shift specified by the position, to include mandatory overtime as deemed necessary to support business operations.
Physical Demands:
While performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Must have the ability to operate lift machinery/equipment and be able to work at heights above 15 feet. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
