Repair and Tool Technician

Overview

Repair and Tool Technician role at The Home Depot. This position focuses on the evaluation and repair of small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical devices. Technicians may work in stores with Tool Rental Centers or in repair centers.

• Evaluate and repair small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical devices.
• Make equipment recommendations and ensure that units are maintained.
• Provide service to store customers in Tool Rental, including writing customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs.
• Check that tools are operating properly and demonstrate their proper use as needed.
• Support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the Tool Rental department.
• In non-store locations, ensure units are repaired, tested for quality, and cleaned prior to returning to the originating store.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of all tools and manage the tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools as necessary.

• Ability to evaluate, repair, and maintain diverse tools and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of tools and inventory management.
• Good customer service skills and ability to document contracts and invoices (where applicable).
• Willingness to work in both store and non-store environments.
