Overview

By utilizing broad engineering expertise along with sophisticated 5‑axis CNC machining and special processing, we have the ability to deliver solutions that are responsive to customer needs.

Summary

Maintain quality standards by approving incoming materials, in‑process production, and finished products, recording quality results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Approve receiving inspection of materials supplied by sub‑tier suppliers used to produce finished product
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections for in‑process, completed parts and core blanket assemblies in accordance with The Gill Corporation and/or customer specifications
  • Understand and follow internal inspection procedures and maintain inspection records
  • Utilize a variety of inspector tools to include calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers, scales, and protractors
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Perform First Piece, Lot and Final inspections against customer requirements
  • Conduct in‑depth review and be able to properly interpret acceptance criteria in accordance with customer purchase order and specifications, including industry standards
  • Properly tag, label and segregate nonconforming material and generate non‑conformance reports
  • Process the release and transfer of accepted product into MRP database (SAP)
  • Perform First Article inspections in accordance with AS9102 standard
  • Compile and confirm the accuracy of customer required shipment paperwork
  • Work in a safe manner following all departmental and plant safety rules. Report any unsafe work conditions to Safety Manager, supervisor, or management
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of an MRP system and Microsoft Office (Access, Word, and Excel).
  • Acceptable vision test results.
  • Must have English reading, writing and verbal communication skills sufficient to read, write, and understand and communicate the company operating procedures and policies.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; stoop; bend; balance; kneel; climb; crouch; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands, and arms and talk or hear. The employee must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds on occasion. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
