HGV Technician
Mill Hill, London
£50,000 - £52,000 per annum
An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced HGV Technician to join a growing workshop team following continued fleet expansion.
Working on a modern and well-maintained fleet, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections, servicing, maintenance and repairs to ensure vehicles remain compliant, safe and operational at all times.
Working Hours
· Monday to Friday
· 45 hours per week
· 9-hour day with a 1-hour paid break
· Optional Saturday overtime available
The Role
As an HGV Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining fleet reliability and vehicle uptime, working within a busy but supportive workshop environment.
Key duties include:
· Carrying out Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs).
· Preparing vehicles for MOT and DVSA inspections.
· Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
· Completing servicing, maintenance and repair work in line with manufacturer schedules.
· Rectifying defects identified during vehicle inspections and daily checks.
· Completing all workshop and compliance documentation accurately.
· Maintaining workshop tools and equipment to a safe working standard.
· Assisting with breakdowns and roadside repairs when required.
· Carrying out repairs and maintenance on company plant and equipment.
· Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Candidate Requirements
· Previous experience as an HGV Technician is essential.
· Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
· Experience carrying out PMIs, servicing and repairs on commercial vehicles.
· Good understanding of DVSA standards and compliance requirements.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
· Positive and proactive approach to work.
