Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

• Maintain the accuracy of subledgers.
• Reconcile bank accounts, debt statements, credit accounts.
• Prepare cash disbursements and maintain vendor accounts.
• Purchasing and assist with customer collections.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Organize and maintain electronic document storage.
• Document new procedures with SOPs.
• Create and maintain monthly close checklists.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and generally accepted accounting principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.

Education and Experience:

• AA degree in Accounting, or related field, required.
• At least two years of related experience required.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
