Office Assistant – Classification D
Location: Edina High School
Status: Non-Exempt
Schedule: 40 Hours/Week (M‑F), 10 month position
An Office Assistant, Classification D, serves as the primary coordinator for all substitute staffing and staff time‑off requests, ensuring every classroom is covered and daily logistics run smoothly. Working closely with one of the assistant principals, this position maintains emergency response protocols and acts as a central communication hub during drills or active crises to ensure school safety. The role also manages the logistical execution of major school milestones, specifically leading the planning, vendor coordination, and student records for Graduation ceremonies.
To ensure a cohesive environment, this position provides high‑level administrative support and completes additional duties as assigned to keep the school's daily operations organized and efficient.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office products.
- Interest in working in a school district environment.
- Knowledge of district and school policies and procedures.
- Detail‑oriented with proven ability to be consistently accurate.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Effective communication with students, employees, and visitors.
- Ability to collaborate with employees.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Salary Range: The wage for this position ranges from $24.83 to $30.94 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Most candidates will start at the entry‑level rate of $24.83 per hour. Experienced candidates with prior work experience in a related field may be eligible for a starting rate of up to $27.26 per hour, on a case‑by‑case basis in consideration of the individual's experience and the district’s budget.
