Summer Seasonal, Child Development/Support
The City of Edina is currently accepting applications for Summer Seasonal Recreation Positions. Program dates, hours and wages vary by position. Must be at least 16 years of age and some positions require you to be 18 years or older. Hourly wage varies by position.
Recreation Leader (Program Instructor II)Recreation leaders will work as a team to plan and implement age-appropriate activities. Leaders will assist with planning weekly arts/crafts, games, and natured based activities for children ages 4 to 12. Scheduled work hours will be Monday-Thursday from 8am-4:15p.m. at various Edina Park locations. Employment dates will be from the end of May through mid-August with programs starting the week of June 8.
The pay range is $15.03 - $16.46 per hour.
Recreation Site Leader (Program Instructor III)Site Leaders will work as a team with other recreation leaders to plan and implement age-appropriate activities. Site leaders will oversee weekly arts/crafts, games, and natured based activities for children aged 4 to 12 are implemented. Scheduled work hours will be Monday-Thursday from 8am-4:15p.m. at various Edina Park locations. Employment dates will be from the end of May through mid-August with programs starting the week of June 8.
The pay range is $16.91-$18.51 per hour.
Qualifications vary by position, but these positions require excellent customer service, be able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and have excellent communication skills and be self-motivated.
Must be at least 16 years of age and some positions require you to be 18 years or older.
Physical Requirements:All jobs will require occasional lift and carry of supplies up to 10 pounds.
Important Dates:- Interviews will start early March and will continue weekly until positions are filled.

- New hire & Re-hire paperwork is due April 21.
- City Wide Seasonal Staff Orientation takes place the third week of May.
- Job specific orientation will take place June 3 & 4

If you get offered a position this summer, you will need to complete the background check that will be emailed to you. After you pass the background check you will need to do the following.
- Fill out paperwork online using NEOGOV
- A bank account is required for pay checks to be directly deposited into.
- Paperwork must be filled out by the deadline to move forward with employment.
- Please mark the dates above on your calendar.
- Job specific orientation information will be sent out in late April.
Position requires push/pull, bend/kneel/squat, grasp and reach for routine tasks.
Working ConditionsThe position is performed primarily outdoors with exposure to inclement weather, outdoor allergens including insects, slippery surfaces and uneven ground.
