Performing Arts Facilities Coordinator

Position Summary

With the focus to support and advance the Edina Public Schools’ mission, vision and core values, the Performing Arts Facilities Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supervising the operations, marketing, and technical needs and schedules of the Edina Public Schools Auditoriums. The Performing Arts Facilities Coordinator serves as a technical supervisor and technical liaison between the district and community, providing technical support for auditorium users to maximize the use of the space and ensure the safety and proper maintenance of all equipment.

The Performing Arts Facilities Coordinator collaborates with building administration and District Media and Technology services to manage all aspects of event planning for hosting community users’ large-scale events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees the operations and use of the school auditoriums and provides technical direction and support for school events and community rentals.
  • Manages the front of the house during productions and events in both the high school and middle school auditoriums.
  • Selects, trains, and supervises students working as theater technicians during school events.
  • Manages a marketing and general maintenance budget for school auditoriums and purchases necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Serves as the district liaison to the city of Edina for elections in district buildings.
Education, Experience and Certification Requirements
  • Requires a minimum of two (2) years of post secondary training in theater management, theater arts, or related field and a minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education / experience necessary to perform the requirements of the position.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification within six (6) months of hire.
  • Valid Minnesota driver’s license and evidence of mobility.
Salary Range

$75,727 – $88,933

The salary for this position depends on experience and qualifications. New hires will typically start at the entry-level rate within the salary range, while candidates with relevant experience may be placed at a higher starting rate, up to the maximum of the salary range. Salary decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis, considering the individual’s experience and the district’s budget.

All employees participate in the state’s pension program, the Teachers Retirement Association (TRA). In addition, employees can participate in the 403(b) retirement program, with eligibility for a district match based on the terms and conditions outlined in the employee work agreement.

Eligible employees also receive paid time off in accordance with the provisions outlined in the employee work agreement.
