Job Summary
GZA Geo Environmental, Inc. (GZA) is seeking an Early Career Environmental Engineer/Scientist with 0–5 years of consulting experience to support environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance, site investigation, and remediation practices in our Edina, MN office. The successful candidate will have a solid educational background and must be self‑motivated with a professional attitude.
ResponsibilitiesAs an Early Career Environmental Engineer/Scientist, you will work with a fast‑paced team of scientists, engineers, project managers, and principals. You will be expected to work both in the field and in the office, gaining experience in field documentation with drilling teams, soil/groundwater/soil vapor sampling, monitoring well installation and sampling, records review, and data analysis. You will also prepare detailed and accurate field documentation, data analysis, and reporting.
Your exposure may extend to our ecological services, construction management, and geotechnical practices. You may be asked to assist on projects and tasks outside of your primary responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering/Science or related field (Master’s Degree is a plus)
- 0–5 years of related environmental consulting or other relevant experience
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical capabilities
- Ability to perform technical execution of projects under the supervision of project managers
- Ability to follow directions, and work independently or in a team setting
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office suite
- Availability to work Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends
- Ability to travel locally and nationwide
- A valid driver’s license in good standing
- 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER and EIT or GIT certifications are a plus
- Experience with EQuIS, CADD, ArcGIS, python is a plus
The base salary may range between $60,000 and $100,000. The actual base salary and total compensation will depend on location, candidate experience, education, professional licensure, and other qualifications.
