Gilbert Mechanical is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to design complex HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial and industrial projects in a collaborative design-build environment. The successful candidate will partner with project managers, field personnel, architects, and owners to develop innovative and cost-effective mechanical solutions from concept through construction.
This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys technical design, problem-solving, and working closely with project teams to deliver exceptional customer results.
Responsibilities- Perform heating and cooling load calculations for commercial and industrial facilities.
- Design and layout HVAC, process piping, and plumbing systems using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and gather project information.
- Coordinate system design with architectural, structural, electrical and other trades.
- Participate in project meetings with customers, architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve design conflicts and construction-related issues.
- Support project teams throughout planning, design, and construction phases.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and project partners.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes and industry standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 3+ years of experience designing HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Working knowledge of building codes, construction practices, and mechanical design principles.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with design-build project delivery.
- Knowledge of Navisworks, Sysque, and Trane Trace software.
- Piping and/or sheet metal fabrication experience.
- Cost estimating or preconstruction experience.
Base Salary: $75k-$95k. This role may be eligible for participation in discretionary bonus plan based on company and individual performance.
