The Controls Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of temperature control and building automation projects. Reporting to the Controls Department Manager, this role oversees project estimating, planning, financial performance, and customer satisfaction while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
Key Responsibilities- Estimate, develop, and sell temperature control projects for commercial customers
- Manage multiple controls projects from inception through completion
- Coordinate and support field personnel to ensure successful project execution
- Monitor project budgets, costs, schedules, and overall financial performance
- Communicate project schedules and activities with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Lead and participate in jobsite meetings as required
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve project issues and conflicts proactively
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to support repeat business and long-term partnerships
- Ensure projects meet customer expectations, quality standards, and company objectives
- Minimum of 3 years of successful project management experience within the temperature controls, building automation, or controls construction industry
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Experience managing project budgets and financial performance
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Experience working with commercial HVAC controls and building automation systems (BAS)
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple projects effectively
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Committed to delivering exceptional project outcomes and customer satisfaction
Base Salary: $80k-$135k. This role is also eligible for an annual performance‑based bonus. Bonus eligibility and payout are determined by role, individual performance, and company performance, and are not guaranteed.
