Position Summary:The Communications Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day execution of the organization’s communications across platforms, ensuring materials are clear, timely, visually consistent, and aligned with organizational values. This role coordinates, produces, and distributes all organizational communications that support numerous areas including but not limited to: educational offerings, community engagement, events, and organizational visibility.
This position is ideal for a highly organized communications professional who can manage multiple communication requests and deliver polished, audience-ready materials while working collaboratively in a small nonprofit environment. Strong design, writing, and content creation skills—as well as a commitment to understanding and being able to consistently deliver the organization’s brand voice, visual identity, and values—are crucial.
Core Responsibilities Communications Production & Organization- Design and create print and digital materials, including but not limited to:
- Flyers
- Concert programs
- Educational PDFs
- Postcards
- Annual reports
- Sponsorship decks
- Presentations
- Mailings
- Signage
- Posters
- Implement changes and updates to website (Wix).
- Create, schedule, and monitor all organizational email communications (Wix marketing email).
- Manage organization’s social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, You Tube, and Linked In), including planning, creating, and publishing content in alignment with the social media strategy, as well as engaging with audiences as appropriate.
- Maintain and manage a centralized organizational communications calendar and production timelines.
- Track and maintain a well‑organized photo, video, and communications asset library.
- Apply established brand, voice, and visual guidelines consistently across all communications.
- Collaborate closely with staff to refine drafts and designs.
- Ensure communications reflect the organization’s values, tone, and ethical commitments, particularly in dementia-related contexts.
- Coordinate with internal staff to gather information, timelines, and materials needed for communication.
- Set communications priorities in coordination with staff and Executive Director to ensure aligned and manageable workflow.
- Support documentation of communications processes and systems.
- Alignment with the mission and values of the organization.
- Ability to manage time effectively to balance multiple projects with close deadlines in a collaborative environment.
- 3+ years of experience in communications, digital content, or related field.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Experienced Wix and Canva Pro user.
- Experience with Meta Business Suite, You Tube, and Linked In.
- Familiarity with email platforms, social media management, and basic website CMS tools.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working in a small nonprofit environment.
- Sensitivity to accessibility, inclusion, and ethical storytelling.
- Comfort receiving creative direction and feedback.
- Proactive, solution-oriented approach.
