Nurse Practitioner - General Surgery; casual - Edina and Burnsville, MN

Job Description:

Fairview is seeking a Casual General Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join the General Surgery team at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN and M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN. This is a casual position and will work on an as need basis to help cover leave of absences on the core team. In this role, you will work closely with a well-established community General Surgery group and an experienced group of Advanced Practice Providers (APP), caring for patients with a diverse range of general, breast, surgical oncology, reflux, abdominal wall reconstruction, colon surgery and bariatric disorders.

Practice Details:

• Surgical patient care for a wide variety of conditions such as breast, oncologic, colon, foregut, complex hernia, endocrine, and bariatric in addition to general surgery
• Inpatient care including:
  Admissions and consults, daily rounding, operative assist, and discharge planning and education
• Provide first assist in the operating room

• Casual (as needed) scheduling
• Daytime hours:
  Monday Friday 7:30 AM 4:00 PM
• Additional weekend shift opportunities available

Qualifications:

• Graduate of a school of nursing and accredited Adult/Gero or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner training program
• BC/BE through the AANP or ANCC
• Licensed or ability to obtain APRN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing
• Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
• Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
• Experience in a Surgical practice is required

$80 per hour, flat rate
