Yorkshire of Edina, a Lifespark Senior Living Community, is looking for a Director of Health Services (DHS) to join our growing team.
Yorkshire of Edina Senior Living is located in Edina, off a bus route, between Southdale Mall and the YMCA. We help seniors age magnificently in our gorgeous 96‑unit, apartment‑style community providing Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care services.
PositionDuties & Responsibilities
The Director of Health Services is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of nursing care and services provided to residents and for daily clinical operations.
Duties include:
- Oversee the nursing staff to provide quality and appropriate resident care that meets or exceeds company and regulatory standards.
- Schedule and perform rounds to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care.
- Maintain administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability for the proper charting and documentation of care, medications, and treatments.
- Assist with hiring nursing staff, oversee orientation and training, and retain qualified staff to carry out nursing and assisted living programs and services.
- Assist with developing and implementing the written staffing plan and nursing schedule that reflects the needs of the resident population.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to build relationships with internal and external prospects, customers, families, and care providers.
- Evaluate current and potential residents to determine and maintain facility’s ability to provide the appropriate level of care.
- Manage clinical aspects of state or federal government survey processes.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and a valid state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- A minimum of two years’ management or supervisory experience in long‑term or acute care is preferred.
- Restorative or geriatric nursing experience is preferred.
- Must be able to relate professionally, positively, and cooperatively with residents, residents’ families, and employees.
- Must possess advanced computer skills.
