Assistant Retail Store Manager

The Assistant Retail Store Manager will support the staff and lead the store in Edina, MN. The Assistant Manager will also support daily operations. In this role, you will be responsible for amplifying Meat Eater's distinctive brand through strategic marketing, event activations, and exceptional store operations. Your leadership will support the store’s contribution to Meat Eater’s overall success by delivering exceptional customer service, exceeding revenue targets, and fostering an inclusive team environment.

The Meat Eater store proudly feature products from across our family of the Meat Eater, First Lite, FHF, Phelps Game Calls, and Dave Smith Decoys brands. The right candidate will also have personal experience in hunting, fishing, conservation and a general interest in the outdoors.

This position is located in Edina, Minnesota.

• Assist in recruitment, retention, and management of retail staff for the Meat Eater store, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
• Contribute to achievement of store’s goals and KPIs
• Support in cultivating an engaging and enriching work environment, ensuring a supportive and inspiring experience for all team members
• Conduct ongoing brand and product training with cross-function leaders across the company
• Model Meat Eater’s values and leadership behaviors, ensuring the store’s operations and team dynamics reflect our deep connection to people, pursuits, conservation and the outdoors

• Foster an outstanding guest experience, ensuring team members are well-versed in product knowledge and skilled in guest engagement
• Provide secondary leadership on the retail floor, making strategic decisions to optimize coverage and operations
• Address guest feedback and emergent issues promptly and effectively, maintaining Meat Eater's commitment to customer satisfaction
• Maintain a close relationship with stakeholders including Meat Eater leadership, Meat Eater’s featured on-camera/on-mic talent, neighboring stores, landlord, and the Brookfield community

• Uphold product presentation and visual merchandising standards, managing product inventory, restocking, and floor layouts as needed
• Assist in idea generation and execution to regularly ‘program’ the store with distinctly Meat Eater rotating features and seasonal merchandising featuring the company’s product portfolio
• Execute store opening and closing procedures diligently, adhering to safety policies to ensure a safe work environment for team members and guests
• Participate in key ‘go to market’ milestones with the Meat Eater company and provide proactive, clear consumer feedback on brand and product offerings
• Consistently consider, recommend, and execute opportunities to tighten the store and the company’s ties with the Edina community through events, programming, promotions, and otherwise
• Other duties as beneficial to Meat Eater

• 2 years of relevant experience in retail store operations in the Outdoor or Athletic Industry
• Strong knowledge of effective merchandising and floor sales techniques
• Passionate about customer service with a strong ability to understand customer needs
• Proficiency in managing store operations, inventory, and point-of-sale systems
• Knowledge and personal experience in hunting

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Knowledge of and personal experience in hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities, especially in the Minneapolis area
