Overview
We are seeking a driven and relationship-focused Business Development Specialist. This is a high-impact outside sales role responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building lasting client relationships, and closing contracts with general contractors, builders, interior designers, architects, property managers, and commercial real estate professionals across the region.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in the field, understands the commercial construction and design cycle, and can confidently present solutions to a sophisticated client base.
Business Development & Sales- Prospect and develop new commercial accounts across target markets including general contractors, builders, interior designers, architects, property managers, and commercial real estate firms
- Manage a defined territory and build a consistent pipeline of new project opportunities
- Conduct in-person meetings, site visits, showroom presentations, and product demonstrations
- Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and project specifications tailored to client needs
- Close contracts and meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets
- Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in the commercial construction and design community
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients from initial contact through project completion
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, networking groups, and associations
- Collaborate with internal project management and installation teams to ensure seamless client delivery
- Stay current on commercial construction activity, new developments, and permit activity in the region
- Monitor competitor activity and provide feedback to leadership on market trends and pricing
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline, and client interactions in the CRM system
- 3+ years of outside sales or business development experience, preferably in commercial interiors, construction products, or related building materials
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals in a competitive market
- Strong prospecting skills with the ability to self-generate leads and manage a pipeline independently
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Comfortable with frequent travel within the assigned territory
- Proficiency with CRM tools and standard business software
- Experience in commercial window treatments, furniture, or related commercial interiors products
- Existing relationships with general contractors, architects, interior designers, or property management firms
- Familiarity with commercial construction project cycles and specification selling
