DuPont’s Water & Protection is recruiting for a Facility Maintenance Technician to join its dynamic team located at its manufacturing site in Minneapolis, MN. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 6:30am – 3:00pm.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general and preventive maintenance on building infrastructure, including garage doors, lunchroom water machines, building lighting, auto flushers and auto sink faucets.
- Maintain and repair building and equipment such as roofs, doors, steps, walls, and sidewalks.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks, install equipment, diagnose problems, and repair equipment, which may require electrical work, plumbing, and welding.
- Order parts and supplies.
- Maintain accurate written and computer‑generated records, complete written work orders, and maintain purchase records.
- Advise department on routine maintenance recommendations of equipment.
- Perform overtime as needed.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to work in a self‑directed environment and as a team player.
- Ability to perform and detect problems in the building and equipment and operate or utilize tools used in the maintenance process.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel; ability to learn new systems quickly.
- A valid state driver’s license is required.
- Strong mathematical, and written/verbal communication skills are essential.
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow oral and written procedures and instructions.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job in a safe and efficient manner.
- Proven mechanical ability.
- Willingness to adhere to all safety standards and exhibit a strong commitment to safety for themselves and others.
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 45lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and move throughout the plant, wearing proper PPE.
- Technical degree, relevant military experience, and/or additional mechanical training or certificates.
- Competitive salary starting $28.00/hr (depending on experience).
