Rate: $45.51/hour

Position Overview:

The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is seeking applicants for a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher. An educator holding a valid Pennsylvania Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Certificate is qualified to assess, develop individualized education programs, and teach students with hearing impairments. This is a position working as an itinerant in the areas that the IU services.

Required Qualifications:

* Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Certificate

* Valid PA Teaching Certificate

Qualifications:

* Master's Degree

Essential Functions:

* Assess and teach deaf and hearing impaired students

* Develop individualized education programs

* Counsel special education students who are deaf or hard of hearing regarding the impact their hearing loss may have on their education

* Be able understand and apply applicable laws and policies
